Monuments Men (George Clooney) - 2014

In addition to being guilty of mass murder, genocide and starting preemptive wars, Adolf Hitler was also the biggest thief in the history of the world.  Hitler charged his armies with the collection of the best artwork in Europe.  Our leaders would never do anything like this (except for that one time in Iraq).  Clooney gathered his "Ocean's Seven" or so to tackle this true story of open thievery on a grand scale.  Apparently, Brad Pitt had a better offer this time.  This is a feel-good movie (except for untimely deaths of some characters) about the successful recovery of most of Europe's best knick-knacks after Germany was defeated in 1944.  Look for George Clooney's father, Nick at the end of the movie.  [JAM 2/9/2014]
