Ghostbusters III (Ivan Reitman) - 2016

This is a pleasant reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise.  I like the female cast, especially Kate McKinnon as the tech-nerd.  Most of the living original cast members returned for their cameos and best wishes to the new gang.  Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd were excellent in their bit parts.  Also, the production company found an appropriate place for the bust of Harold Ramis.  New York City is awash with evil spirits; the paranormal believers know what to do, but city officials refuse to recognize the existence of either.  There is much room for humor; the special effects are great; and the plot is the same but who cares?  Thanks for two hours away from another depressing presidential cycle and the awful news of the summer of 2016.  [JAM 7/18/2016]
