Mad #96 (Albert Feldstein) - Special Middle-of-the-Road Issue - July 1965

Publisher Bill Gaines and Editor Al Feldstein were often placed in Mad articles by the artists and writers.  Gaines was easy to draw; Feldstein was not.  Both appeared in the Coker/Siegel Sales & Promotional Gimmicks (for churches).  In #95 they were at the beach party (Drucker/Siegel) and Gaines was on the Squamish Rules Committee (Woodbridge/Koch).

In its ninth consecutive appearance, the Mad zeppelin was finally shown on the cover in full color.  This appearance coincided with the publication of the Mad Zeppelin Kit in The Eighth Annual Edition of the Worst from Mad.  Zeppelins continued to fly through Mad articles.  Some were drawn by the article artists and some were obviously placed in blank spots by the Mad editors. [MADlog #13]

Reader Tony Perodeau has suggested that "The Indignant Husband" was the idea of Sergio Aragones based on the foldout drawing in Inside Mad.
