Mad #486 (John Ficarra) - WKUK Issue - February 2008

The Independent Film Channel (IFC) hijacked Mad #486 to hype their new television comedy series.  Six Mad artists and Dick DeBartolo were spirited away from Mad to produce an eight-page advertisement in the middle of Mad that kinda looks Mad but really is not.  The Whitest Kids 'U Know was shown on IFC from 2007 to 2011.  I never saw it.  With many of Mad's top artists working on the ad, the rest of the issue looks like filler.  We get Fundalini, Strip Club, Monroe, Jaffee, Aragones, Spies, some outtakes and not much else.  The only article that looks like something new is "Man vs. Wild at the Mall", David Shayne's satire of one of those reality shows that seem to be on every channel all the time.  [JAM 11/22/2014]
