Mad #473 (John Ficarra) - Dumbest People 2006 - January 2007

Again, the Bush administration dominated Mad's Dumbest 20.  And, this dysfunctional group of selfish politicos still has two more years of mayhem in store for the country.  Five pages were devoted to Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice including drunken hunter Dick Cheney as the cover boy.  Without a doubt, the star of the "Dumbest 2006" project is Hermann Mejia ("The Iraq War") with his amazing chess-piece sculptures.  Writer Jacob Lambert is a close second as the author of 1, 9, 13 and 14.  Cover artist Mark Fredrickson performed triple duty for this issue with (13) "Barry Bonds" and (20) "Pirates of the Constitution".  Also of note is the excellent drawing of Paris Hilton ("No-Action Comics") by comic book artist J. Scott Campbell [Danger Girl, Spider-Man].  [JAM 10/25/2014]
