Mad #460 (John Ficarra) - Harry Plodder Has Got To Retire Issue - December 2005

There was a lot of junk in this issue but also another excellent Harry Potter parody by Desmond Devlin and Hermann Mejia.  Eighteen full pages of advertisement, a useless two-page calendar, six pages of "Fundalini" & "Go Fetch", and three pages devoted to the foot problems of Monroe filled this one.  There was so much junk that the editors did not have room for "The Strip Club".  But, Harry came to the rescue among the clutter.  Mejia's drawings of the all-Brit, fourth episode of young wizard adventures perfectly capture the personalities of the diverse cast members.  Halfway through the J.K. Rowling tour de force, writer Devlin ponders the challenge for directors to mask the age of actors who burst past puberty during ten years of filming.  Lead actor, Daniel Radcliffe was 22 as the final episode hit theaters but his growth was strangely stunted at 5-foot-5-inches.  It is no wonder that Emma Watson preferred the much taller (5-foot-eight-inches) Rupert Grint.  [JAM 9/4/2014]
