Mad #445 (John Ficarra) - 50 Worst Things About Comedy Issue - September 2004

Writer Scott Maiko's clever list of comedy flaws is somewhat over-shadowed by artist Hermann Mejia's amazing interpretation of 34 of Maiko's observations.  Mejia's use of color and contrast to create caricatures is unmatched by current humor artists.  Comedians Dom Deluise, Tracey Ullman, Chris Rock, Don Rickles, Bernie Mac et al. are absolutely captured by Mr.  Mejia.  I am a big fan of Al Franken, Jim Carrey, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd so I disagree with them being included in the "50".  Also, I would suggest to Mr. Maiko that Woody Allen has not made or tried to make a comedy film since 1975.  [JAM 7/10/2014]
