Mad #421 (Nick Meglin and John Ficarra) - Star Wars Jokes Not Ready For Jedi Bunch Issue - September 2002

Although Mad #419 promised "spectacular 14-page Star Wars section ...", the best stuff was not ready for two months (probably because nobody had actually seen the movie in time for the July 2002 publication date.)  Mad artistic superstars Mort Drucker ("Star Bores Epic Load II: Attack of the Clowns") and Sergio Aragones ("A Mad Look at Star Wars Attack of the Clones") could not finish their parody drawings in time for the Jedi Bunch Issue.  The Drucker effort seems to be unfinished.  Where are the Mad jokes?  Where are Charlie Brown's friends?  Where are the cute birds?  The Aragones article is also missing the usual Mad jokes.  The small Alfred E. Neuman is missing from his normal location by the title.  In fact, the face of the idiot kid appears on only three pages of the issue.  [JAM 3/31/2014]
