Mad #407 (Nick Meglin and John Ficarra) - Double Jackass Issue - July 2001

Mad Magazine's decision to devote eight pages and two covers to Johnny Knoxville's MTV program was like the New York Times deciding to allot an entire newspaper section to the opinions of the city's pre-schoolers.  Not funny.  Amidst the excessive pain-humor in the issue were clever articles by Darren Johnson ("Realistic Talking Toys"), Amanda Conner ("You've Officially Become ..."), Greg Leitman ("Rejected Reality TV Shows") and Jeff Kruse ("Mad's Photo Personals Gallery").  This issue drops back to the 48-page format as advertising page sales drop to four.  Perhaps the advertisers were given an advance warning of the cover subject.
