Tarsam (Roy Thomas/Wally Wood) - Topps Krazy Little Comics 1967 (8 pages - 2.5" x 3.5")

This is a parody of Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950).

The front page finds Tarsam hanging upside down caught in his own elephant trap with a laughing chimpanzee on the nearby limb.  Tarsam has a tattoo of a heart on his right biceps with "JANE" in the center of the heart.

Page 2 - Tarsam is swinging on a lion's tail over a safari of big game hunters.  One of the hunters has a hand grenade.  Among the safari supplies are a large television and a refrigerator.  Three monkeys in the foreground see, hear and speak no evil.  Tarsam now has a heart tattoo on his right shoulder with "SHEENA" in the center.

Page 3 - The limb breaks and Tarsam and lion fall to the ground.  The right shoulder tattoo now reads "CHEETAH."

Page 4 - The safari leaders have tied up Tarsam who is yodeling for help.  Tarsam has a tattoo of an ape's head on his chest with "MOM" beneath it.  Ape tattoo also seems to be yodeling.  The spots on Tarsam's pants are now CBS eyes.  One of the safari leaders is drinking tea and carrying a rifle with bayonet.  Helmets of hunters read "SONNY" and "CHER."  A "Vine St." sign is in the background.

Page 5 - The hunters start to run as an elephant, an ape, a lion and a pterodactyl are coming to help Tarsam.  Sign in jungle says "DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS."

Page 6 - The animals, which now include a bull, a giraffe, a zebra and a mouse are trampling Tarsam.  Elephant is wearing a "GOP" sign.  Bull has "ANIMAL CRACKERS" brand and lion has "MGM" brand within a heart.

Page 7 - Animals tell Tarsam that they were just running to see The Mickey Mouse Show on the television.  Tarsam is sitting in a hole.

Page 8 - The back page is a an parody for "Misery Music Inc."  Popeye with a heavy beard is playing a guitar badly.  The ad offers books that will teach one to play guitar by ear or fingers.
