Boxes: The Secret Life of Howard Hughes (Douglas Wellman) - WriteLife, LLC - 2010 - 191 pages

If you are at all interested in the life of Mr. Hughes, you should read this book.  Author Wellman and Ms. Eva Renee McLelland contend that the Howard Hughes story did not end in 1976 and they have evidence to that effect.  It is quite possible that Hughes employed a double to sit in his luxury apartment while he stole another man's identity (with help from the CIA) and lived as a free man until he died at the age of 96 in Alabama.  Ms. McLelland claimed to be married to Hughes who was then known as Nik Nicely for the last 31 years of his life.  And, she had photographs and numerous anecdotes to support her case.  If she is right, Hughes was the ultimate escape artist who was able to elude the press and paparazzi to live a somewhat normal life.  I believe it.
